Children are especially catered for at wagait Beach. Council's Recreation Officer runs regular programs throughout the week including Touch Football on the beachfront, soccer, indoor cricket and tennis.

The Sportsground provides a full range of amenties including a large coverd area, oval, indoor/outdoor cricket area, tennis court, modern childrens playground and toilets/showers.

The professionally designed BMX track is also a popular attraction for the children.

The Council makes the facility available for private hire and is regularly used for birthday parties and for social activities by community groups.
